LIVE EVENT: Ernest R. Bartley Memorial Lecture

Video & Collaboration Services provides video streaming with a Windows Media streaming server and a Helix streaming server. Rich media streaming presentations are available with our MediaSite encoder.

The Windows Media server is capable of delivering unlimited simultaneous video streams in Windows Media and MediaSite formats to viewers. The Helix server allows for the streaming of Real Media and Quicktime video files and is capable of delivering 200 simultaneous video streams to viewers. Users of the streaming servers are recommended to create streaming files in the Windows Media format.

There is no per-stream or other direct cost associated with streaming of stored video files. However, there may be a cost associated with storing those video files. For information on the costs involved and on how to obtain an account on the server, visit our Video Storage page.

The Video & Collaboration Services Live Stream is a live encoded video stream that broadcasts the ATTV feed, satellite downlinks in progress, or other VCS events. You can arrange to live stream your own events by contacting VCS. The cost for live streaming is $50 per hour plus a $50 per event setup fee. If requested, archives of live presentations will be available two business days after the live event.

Rich media streaming presentations from MediaSite are available for $100 per hour. This service provides a high quality computer image capture in addition to a Windows Media video stream. To view a demonstration of this service, visit this link. (Requires Internet Explorer).

For a fee of $15 per hour of content you can have a VHS tape converted to a Windows Media or Real Media file and burned on CD or uploaded to your video storage account. The CD is included in the price. Please allow up to a five day turnaround.
